POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Retail Cannabis Store Manager who will be responsible for the overall management of staff, standard operating procedures, scheduling, inventory, compliance, supplies and all other tasks that arise in a dynamic retail environment. The Retail Cannabis Store Manager also works directly with the Management Team to develop operational and sales objectives, maximize revenue goals and ensure sound record keeping. The Retail Cannabis Store Manager will be accountable for one authorized store and obtain a Retail Manager Licence as part of the hiring process through the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). The ideal candidate must have excellent people skills, and a genuine passion for the cannabis industry and wellbeing of customers. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be of legal age to sell and handle cannabis products/merchandise (19 years or older)
  • Must pass Criminal background check upon employment
  • Retail Manager Licence approval from AGCO (application done through company) 
  • Basic computer and software experience
  • Must be willing to work evening, weekends and holiday shifts 
  • Effective communication; written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution
  • Provide weekly reports on cannabis inventory
  • Meet all requirements/procedures/record keeping as per AGCO guidelines
  • Meet all compliances for inspections as per AGCO guidelines
  • Understanding Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, safety regulations and standard operational procedures
  • Must successfully complete training that is provided by the company before employment begins 
  • Must successfully complete the CannSell Retail Certification program

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must adhere to all company standards of conduct
  • Management of opening and closing procedures
  • Accountability and management of cash handling procedures
  • Employee training, develop top talent, provide constructive feedback to help employees meet expectations and goals
  • Lead, motivate, inspire, and coach employees to create a customer-centric environment resulting in a memorable and positive customer experience
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by observing, listening, interacting, and following-up with customers to ensure satisfaction and issue/complaint resolution
  • Recruit, hire, and train all store employees in coordination with Human Resources policies and procedures
  • Oversight and management of store merchandising, daily operations, collaboration with marketing, and overall executive of store and company standards 
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for all employees and customers
  • Store scheduling and staffing
  • Review and submit sales and operational reports to management
  • Other duties as assigned 

EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of retail management or manager level in a customer service environment 
  • High School diploma
  • Strong leadership skills to manage and mentor staff
  • Knowledge of retail cannabis an asset 
  • Strong computer skills
