Purpose of Position:
This position is responsible for supporting and maintaining tax compliance in our core tax and complementary engines and products. The position involves close interaction with the Compliance teams for US and Canada as well other product owners/managers, business analysts, and the development teams. Excellent organization skills and the ability to follow up on multiple items is critical. Additionally, a strong understanding of the importance of compliance and the role it plays in payroll and human resources is important. Understanding compliance items, prioritization, valuation, and estimating impact are key parts of the role.

Key Responsibility Areas
RESPONSIBILITY AREA 1: US Compliance 50% of time
  • Manage tax compliance releases.
  • Work with US Compliance team on a weekly basis to understand business requirements.
  • Evaluate the impact to the business for each change including potential penalties.
  • Evaluate customer impact by estimating what % of customers need/use each item.
  • Evaluate payroll regulatory and tax remittance trends in conjunction with compliance and determine future roadmap requirements.
  • Prioritize each item and ensure clear deliverable dates are set.
  • Ensure that BRD documents can easily be converted into user stories.
  • Be able to demonstrate the value of each compliance change.
  • Work closely with other Product Owners and Managers that have compliance requirements embedded in their supported products.

  • RESPONSIBILITY AREA 2: Canada Compliance 40% of time
  • Similar to US Compliance, work with all teams to meet objectives of the role.
  • Support compliance for Canada core engines and back office
  • Establish and manage relationship with Canada Back Office
  • Supports overall product lifecycle plans in execution of cross-product strategies

  • RESPONSIBILITY 3: 10% of time
  • Monitors product operational metrics and performance
  • Communicates required changes and priorities to business stakeholders
  • Other related duties as required

  • Education and Experience Required & Desired
  • Product management experience an asset.Desirable that experience be in the Payroll, Workforce Management and Human Capital Management
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional teams in business requirements, usability, documentation, and operational teams in a scrum environment.
  • College degree required and minimum 5 years experience in business analysis, product management, implementation or business interaction processes
  • Excellent written and spoken language skills
  • Ability to present virtually to varying size audiences
  • Ability to travel 5%-10% of time in US and Canada
  • High performing individual with a sense of urgency and understanding the importance of compliance for Ceridian and our clients
