Primary Purpose: In support of Research Computing and university researchers, the Advanced Research Computing Analyst helps the researchers from major research centres (e.g. Global Institute for Food Security, Global Institute for Water Security) make effective use of computational infrastructure for their research. As part of the Research Computing team in ICT, the Advanced Research Computing Analyst will help integrate technologies and enable the development of IT services for major research centres and enable their research success.
Nature of Work: The position will be assigned work by the Advanced Research Computing (ARC) Coordinator in Research Computing in ICT. Research Computing is responsible for supporting university researchers in the areas of research-specialized software, hardware, and computation. The position requires the skill and ability to work effectively as part of a team of IT support professionals, and with researchers in service of their research IT needs.
Participation in meetings, both locally and remotely via video conferencing, is required. Occasional weekend or evening work may be required which will be balanced with flex time considerations. Occasional travel within and outside Canada may be required, with ample notice provided.

Qualifications Education: A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Experience: A minimum of three years of related work experience as a system analyst or system integrator, in mixed Windows/Linux OS environment. Experience as an IT consultant/advisor will be considered an asset.
Experience with any of the following will be considered an asset:
Skills: Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team. Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities. Superior analytical, configuration, and documentation skills. Demonstrated expertise with software and hardware integration. Knowledge of the University of Saskatchewan's culture and goals would be considered an asset.
