Responsible for all aspects of the assigned payrolls and providing overall support to the payroll team. The areas of responsibilities include payroll, benefits and time and attendance administration.
Assist in processing the bi-weekly payrolls for 1500+ employees including union and non-unionized staff in multiple provinces across Canada. Handle payroll and benefits administration including; new hire setup, status changes, termination, benefits processing, ROE, etc. Handle time and attendance for hourly employees Adhere to all payroll, tax, employment standards regulations, and deadlines to minimize risk to the organization. Prepare and complete remittances and dues calculations. Assist in managing and tracking annual vacation and other paid time off entitlements. Maintain digital and physical employee files and all payroll/benefits documents. Assist in year end processing. Prepare payroll exception, audit and management reports as required
Qualifications and Skills
3+ years of experience processing payroll from start to finish Payroll Compliance Practitioner designation Must be proficient in Excel and report writing skills Previous experience working with HRIS/Payroll software, ADP WFN experience preferred Strong organization skills, ability to accurately handle a high volume of transactions and to prioritize workload are essential
