Job Description Position Summary: Reporting to the Manager, Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance Technician monitors and inspects products, materials, equipment, and production facilities to exceed customer expectations and comply with government regulations, Sofina Quality by Process philosophy and Quality Assurance programs and specifications. Key Accountabilities: Demonstrate familiarity with all Quality Assurance documents (HACCP Plans, CCPs, pre-requisite programs, Standard Operating Procedures etc.) and complete corresponding records; Perform Quality Assurance checks to ensure all procedures are fully implemented and compliant; Understand, operate and calibrate all lab equipment (autoclave, incubator, scales, thermometers, etc.) in accordance with standard operating procedures and maintain accurate documentation; collect product samples for finished product testing, swab equipment and sample and inspect incoming materials to ensure all meet internal and regulatory standards; Participate in internal and external quality audits and operational reviews, providing timely feedback and corrective recommendation to the Manager, Quality Assurance and Plant Management; Assist the Manager, Quality Assurance in orienting employees on quality, regulatory and food safety principles and acquire accreditation to conduct Modernized Poultry Inspection Program (MPIP) inspections. Requirements: Degree or Diploma in Food Sciences or equivalent experience; Previous lab experience is an asset; Related work experience in manufacturing production manufacturing is an asset; Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, Quality regulatory requirements and systems; Strong understanding of manufacturing food processes; Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook); Strong analytical and communication skills; Able to lift 12 to 30 kg (lift and manipulate whole turkey for inspection/sampling).
