Position: Maternal Child Health Worker / Infant Development Program Worker
Location: Fort St James OR Vanderhoof, British Columbia
Employment Type: Full Time - 35 hours/week

The Opportunity: This role is a full time split position- Infant Development Worker and Maternal Child Health Worker.
The Infant Development Worker is responsible for providing services including serving and maintaining a caseload of infants/children and families including providing home visits, planning programs, assisting parents to develop effective parenting skills.
The Maternal Child Health Worker is accountable for the day-to-day support and programming to pregnant women, and mothers and fathers of infants and young children up to six years of age. This includes the development and facilitation of educational programs, one-on-one support, and home visits to ensure families.

- Conduct screenings and assessments
- Assists families in determining goals for their infants/child and the means of attaining them. Plans, develops and implements support plans to meet these ends. Provides parenting skills training.
- Discuss child development and positive parenting practice with clients
The Maternal Child Health Worker is accountable for the day-to-day support and programming to pregnant women, and mothers and fathers of infants and young children up to six years of age. This includes the development and facilitation of educational programs, one-on-one support, and home visits to ensure families.
- Provides services to clients supported by evidence, research and multidiscipline expertise on the wide range of health, social, and program specific issues related to health care services within First Nation communities and CSFS clinics.
- Carry out activities to support families in improving health outcomes for pregnant women and their families
- Facilitate workshops and information sessions, conduct interviews, intakes, and assessments
- Assist with community kitchens

What You Will Bring to The Role:
- A degree and/or relevant experience in a field related to early childhood development, or
- Two-year diploma in a social science or health science degree program required, or
- DONA International certified Doula, and
- Early Childhood Education certification is preferable
