Overview
Pembina Pipeline Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join the Financial Reporting and Compliance team in our downtown Calgary office.

Responsibilities
The Financial Accountant, will directly report to the Manager, JV Reporting and Integration, and will be responsible for various financial reporting and accounting tasks that include but are not limited to:
  • Prepare quarterly and annual audited financial statements, notes to the financial statements, and working papers for Pembina's jointly owned legal entities;
  • Coordinate annual audits and quarterly reviews by external auditors;
  • Coordinate monthly accounting for Pembina's investment in equity accounted investments, including disclosure in Pembina's consolidated financial statements;
  • Perform other tasks to support legal entity financial accounting and reporting, including account reconciliations and shared service accounting;
  • Support accounting integration projects;
  • Ensure financial statements issued to external parties are in compliance with applicable financial reporting requirements, including both IFRS and US GAAP;
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to financial compliance at the joint venture reporting level;
  • Review and documentation of existing processes, as required;
  • Compiling financial information and preparing working papers for compliance filings;
  • Supporting the Tax department and assisting with preparing selected annual filings and addressing queries from tax authorities;
  • Supporting and maintaining open communications and inter-department initiatives and efficiencies within the Accounting Service Unit; and
  • Other financial reporting and accounting tasks and projects as required.


Job Qualifications
  • Designated accountant with at least 2+ years post-designation experience in a similar role is preferred;
  • Experience with SAP and SAP Business Planning & Consolidation or similar large ERP systems would be considered an asset;
  • Advanced level with MS Excel would be an asset while strong skills in other Microsoft applications is desirable;
  • Energetic, positive and motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to generate superior results under tight deadlines;
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills;
  • Demonstrated leadership potential; and
  • Effective communication, organization, and time management skills.
